Our plan for this weekend was to head over to Yonge Street for the Open Street festival. After waking up late and taking our sweet time to get ready, however, the festivities were over by the time we arrived. Fortunately, there always seems to be 10 festivals on the go at any given time in Toronto so we just headed over to Spadina to check out the Chinatown street festival.

This weekend, between a birthday party in the park, and some evening drinks with friends, we managed to head over to Queen Street East for the Riverside Eats and Beats Streetfest to check out some local art at the annual Riverdale Art Walk.  After a couple of fun days in Hong Kong, we set off for our next Asian city, Taipei! Although it rained on us almost every day and we had a few mishaps along the way, it's home to some of the friendliest people, and this city definitely has a special place in our hearts.  View from Taipei 101 This last week Luke’s sister Sophie was in town, so we ended up doing lots of new and cool stuff around Toronto. Here are a few of the highlights!  This past weekend we thought we'd continue the Subway Saturday tradition by visiting a station that Luke stops at almost every week day but has never wandered around - Eglinton!  This week we decided to try something a little different with our Saturday. In an effort to set out and explore the many random neighbourhoods of Toronto, we decided to start a whole new thing with Subway Saturdays…  This Saturday we headed down to Sugar Beach on the waterfront to check out a cabane à sucre, and enjoy some nice weather and Québécois music!  Sugar Shack TO. We just spent 8 days on holiday in Curaçao with two of our friends! On top of a decent amount of relaxation and inadvertent sunburning, we also made time for road-tripping around the island, snorkelling, observing some of Curaçao's amazing natural features, and an epic hike. With Luke participating in a weekend-long Game Jam, it was tough to find much time for a Something Saturday so we decided to stay relatively close to home to check out some tasty treats in the neighbourhood of Yorkville!  Elizabeth's Christmas present to Luke this year came in the form of a cocktail-making lesson, so on Saturday we headed down to College Street Bar to learn some new tricks and sample a few tasty recipes!
