After a party on Friday and a full day of curling on Saturday we opted for a slightly less active Sunday activity, popping down to the Great Hall on Queen Street West for the Toronto Bakers Market.

To kick-off the holiday season, we went to Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday night to witness the Cavalcade of Lights!  With three additional people squeezed into our 1 bedroom apartment over Halloween weekend - visitors, zombies, and theme park rides were the most prominent parts of our most recent Something Saturday!  This weekend Luke was pretty busy representing Holland Bloorview at the Capital One Gift The Code Hackathon, but we still managed to get in a few hours of exploring another neighbourhood of Toronto. This time, we set out to Christie Station to visit Korea Town, where we enjoyed some tasty lunch, and toilet-themed desserts.  This past Saturday we finally took advantage of Bike Share Toronto and rode a couple of rented bikes along Toronto's Waterfront Trail!  This weekend Luke’s parents were around so we ended up doing lots of new things, like joining the crowds at the Taste of the Danforth food festival, and teaching Elizabeth how to hit a golf ball at the driving range. The real highlight of the weekend, though, was our trip to Toronto Zoo.  Find the baby panda! On Saturday, we took our first trip outside of the city this summer (other than our brief trip to Newfoundland), and visited the picturesque Elora Gorge!  Elora Gorge - spot the inner tubes! We had another busy weekend with Elizabeth's family, scavenging for clues around U of T after dark and exploring the beauty that is High Park!  Looking for clues during our Haunted Toronto scavenger hunt This weekend, between a birthday party in the park, and some evening drinks with friends, we managed to head over to Queen Street East for the Riverside Eats and Beats Streetfest to check out some local art at the annual Riverdale Art Walk.  On Saturday we checked out North America's largest documentary film festival, Hot Docs, and had the chance to test out some new documentary technologies!  Movie watching of the future? |
