On Friday night, we celebrated St. Paddy’s Day by wearing a bit of green and heading to a concert featuring an indie band from England… so not overly Irish…
This past weekend we treated ourselves to a fancy meal on Saturday and an amusing musical on Sunday!
This weekend Toronto said a final farewell to the famous landmark discount store, Honest Ed's. We joined in the festivities, enjoying the sprawling art maze and performances throughout the massive building.
This Saturday, we decided to head down to the Steam Whistle Brewery for the Winter Beer Festival... except, the tickets were sold out when we got there. So instead, we went to have a look at some outdoor art installations on the lakefront... except, we got distracted and ended up at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery instead. Which was great!
After a busy weekend of skiing, curling, and board games, we decided to bump our Something Saturday until Monday night. And we were certainly glad we did when we were sipping on sake and eating delicious Japanese food after a long day of work.
During the second half of our trip back to the UK for Christmas, we headed up to London for a couple of days to catch up with some of Luke's friends. Of course, before heading back to Bath again for New Year's Eve, we were sure to find one new thing to do in London (it isn't hard).
To kick-off the holiday season, we went to Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday night to witness the Cavalcade of Lights!
Last weekend Luke was a bit under the weather, so we opted for a fairly low key Something Saturday where we could just sit down in a dark room and listen to people talking, at the Hot Docs Podcast Festival.
On Saturday night, we headed out to an event with no idea what to expect. That event was "Generator Toronto", and we were incredibly glad we went!
This weekend the Art Gallery of Ontario was free to all ROM members - like us! - so we headed down to check out their latest exhibition, Mystical Landscapes. While it cost us a bit extra, it featured work by Gaugin, Monet, Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keefe and the Group of Seven so it was well worth the price of admission.
We're Elizabeth and Luke.
Join us on our weekly Something Saturday adventures, where we explore somewhere new or try something new!
