This past weekend we were back in Newfoundland, mostly for the wedding of our best buddies Rebecca and Piers, but also to hang out with family for Thanksgiving festivities. We also managed to make a trip to The Rooms museum on Sunday, to see their latest exhibit commemorating the 100th anniversary of the massacre at Beaumont-Hamel during the First World War.
After a busy day of lines and rollercoasters at Canada’s Wonderland on Saturday, we went for a leisurely walking tour on Sunday afternoon with the ROM to learn a bit more about the city we live in. Along the way we discovered just how much history can be crammed into a small neighbourhood over the span of a couple hundred years.
This last weekend was the first in a while that we didn't have anything planned, so at the last minute we booked some train tickets to take us up to Ottawa! Arriving on Friday evening, we enjoyed sampling the sights of the nation's capital (aka Elizabeth's birthplace).
We had another busy weekend with Elizabeth's family, scavenging for clues around U of T after dark and exploring the beauty that is High Park!
After a couple of fun days in Hong Kong, we set off for our next Asian city, Taipei! Although it rained on us almost every day and we had a few mishaps along the way, it's home to some of the friendliest people, and this city definitely has a special place in our hearts.
On Saturday we took a short walk from our apartment to visit the Royal Ontario Museum and check out the latest exhibits!
During the second half of our week back in the UK we set out on a couple of day trips to visit family and take in some sights in Wales and Salisbury!
We spent last week back in the UK seeing friends and family, as well as taking in a few new sights and a bit of the Rugby World Cup while we were at it!
This weekend was an eventful one as we flew up to the Northern Peninsula to visit the town of St. Anthony, and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site of L'Anse aux Meadows!
We're Elizabeth and Luke.
