This Sunday we embraced the spirit of Halloween and went to see the Addams Family Musical. Good tunes and a very talented cast made for a fun time. This weekend was a busy one, with a Halloween Murder Mystery on Friday night followed by a day of curling on Saturday, during which Luke got his first experience skipping a team. On Sunday, while the world outside was wet and grey, we headed indoors to enjoy the Addams Family Musical at the Arts and Culture Centre. The show is based on the famous eccentric family, whose love of all things macabre makes for an interesting night when daughter Wednesday's new (normal) boyfriend and his family come for dinner. All the characters were there: Gomez, Morticia, Pugley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Lurch and even the occasional appearance of Cousin Itt. It was a really fun way to spend the afternoon. The cast did an excellent job of depicting the characters, with a standout performance from the passionate, cigar smoking, torture device collecting, father of the family; Gomez. ;) All in all, it was an excellent show, and a lot of fun! And in true Addams Family style, it was fitting that when we left the theatre, we were greeted by pouring rain and lightning.
