This weekend, amidst the cold, the snow and the Christmas parties, we set off along a new extension to Toronto's subway system to step back in time at the Black Creek Pioneer Village.

We packed a lot into our last few days in Australia, eating and surfing our way around some very different parts of the city and enjoying an incredible experience climbing to the peak of the Harbour Bridge at sunset.  Our last stop in Australia was the city of Sydney! We spent 5 days exploring the area, checking out beaches, trying our hand at surfing, ferrying around the harbour, climbing Sydney Harbour Bridge, and mostly just eating lots of good food. During our trip to Australia we spent around 2 days enjoying a bit of coastal life in Port Douglas in North Queensland. While there, we took a day trip out to some nearby islands to see one of the wonders of the natural word: The Great Barrier Reef.  The second stop on our adventure down-under was North Queensland. Here, we rented a car and set off to explore the beautiful tropical parts of the country.  We’ve spent the past few weeks in Australia! For our first trip down under we visited Melbourne (and area), the Daintree Rainforest and Port Douglas in tropical North Queensland, and then finished off by spending some time back down south in Sydney. Let’s just say we got around. First up – Melbourne!  Fitzroy Last Saturday during the heat wave we headed out to Tommy Thompson Park, 'Toronto's Urban Wilderness', for an afternoon of exploring and admiring the views.  View from Tommy Thompson Park We were in the UK this past week and during this trip we wanted to explore more of the are so we headed off for an adventure in Cornwall - taking in the beaches, seaside towns, and, of course, some pasties!  St. Michael's Mount This past weekend, Elizabeth's sister Rebecca got married in St. John's! The weekend, and week before, were very busy with wedding preparations but everything went off without a hitch.. well, except for the one that counts.  To celebrate the long Canada Day weekend - and Canada's 150th birthday - we decided to set forth and explore a little bit more of the gigantic province that we live in, making our way up to Northern Ontario and Sault Ste. Marie.  |
