Over the past week, we've been working on a couple of projects that have been about a month in the making. The first project is a chair that we purchased at a thrift store for $3.99 and wanted to re-finish. The second project is a shoe rack Luke made recently that we were looking to sand and finish. Here's a before picture:

Last weekend was a long weekend in Newfoundland (and most parts of Canada), so we went to New York City with Elizabeth's parents!
Our bigger "Something" this weekend was a hike from Cape Spear to Maddox Cove that we completed yesterday with Elizabeth's family! It was the 2nd Annual Mother's Day Hike and most family members were in attendance ( - Peter + Luke).
Luke was busy for most of the day today, and although we are going to do another bigger "Something" tomorrow, we did try something new today. We went to a vegetarian restaurant downtown for dinner that neither one of us had been to before. It was actually Luke's first vegetarian restaurant experience. Ever.
So this blog will mainly be about our Something Saturday activity, but we thought we'd include a picture from our walk around Quidi Vidi Lake on Friday evening. This is only about a 10 minute walk from our flat. Yesterday, on Saturday, our Something Saturday involved walking to Signal Hill, around Signal Hill, then taking the Cuckold Cove trail back to Quidi Vidi, and then home. Here is a map of our route. It should also be noted that the trail is definitely not as flat as the map may have you believe.
