On Sunday we made our way over to see the Newman Wine Vaults, another Provincial Historic Site, located on Water St West. The wine vaults are where Newman and Company aged their port from the early 1800s until 1893, or 1914. Bringing port all the way to Newfoundland to age seems unusual, but it is slightly less unusual when you learn the history behind it.  Inside the Newman Wine Vaults

We spent this past weekend on the Bonavista Peninsula! Unfortunately, there was an unexpected power outage for 6 hours during the day on Saturday, so that modified our fairly vague plans. It also made us realize how tough it is to be a tourist when there is no electricity and all of the businesses in a community shut down! Luckily we had some beautiful weather and were still able to take advantage of the great outdoors.

This past weekend we went to a couple of festivals, and made a trip to Mistaken Point with Elizabeth's parents and aunt (who is visiting from Toronto), among other things! We had an eventful weekend and had the opportunity to take in a variety of activities.  Walking back from Mistaken Point This past weekend was spent at Ocean Pond for a family reunion with Elizabeth's family, but we still managed to make a trip to Cupids for a Something Saturday adventure, and we also went to the Hey Rosetta! concert on Monday night!
