This past weekend, Elizabeth's sister Rebecca got married in St. John's! The weekend, and week before, were very busy with wedding preparations but everything went off without a hitch.. well, except for the one that counts.
Out of the Depths Saturday
This weekend we once again made use of our ROM memberships, as we headed along to their brand new exhibit on blue whales.
The Brier Weekend
This past weekend we headed back to Newfoundland, amid storms and freezing rain, to visit Elizabeth's family and go cheer on Team Gushue at The Brier, Canada's ultimate curling tournament.
Beaumont-Hamel at The Rooms Sunday
This past weekend we were back in Newfoundland, mostly for the wedding of our best buddies Rebecca and Piers, but also to hang out with family for Thanksgiving festivities. We also managed to make a trip to The Rooms museum on Sunday, to see their latest exhibit commemorating the 100th anniversary of the massacre at Beaumont-Hamel during the First World War.
Wild Blueberry Picking Saturday
Over the Labour Day weekend, we were back in Newfoundland for our second Newfoundland Wedding Weekend of the summer! This time, we stayed on the Avalon Peninsula and, other than wedding festivities, mostly hung out at the cabin in Ocean Pond where Luke had his first Newfoundland blueberry picking experience.
Newfoundland Wedding Weekend #1
Last weekend involved a whirlwind trip back to Newfoundland for Elizabeth’s cousin (Sarah)’s wedding. With a mere 60 hours on the island, we had a fun weekend with family and enjoyed the Central Newfoundland sunshine!
The Once Sunday
For the second half of our Christmas in Newfoundland, we continued to play games, visit friends and family, and also took in some live Newfoundland music!
Board Games Weekend
We're spending our Christmas holidays in Newfoundland this year! Between the family hangouts, insane amounts of delicious food and drink, and watching movies on the VCR, we managed to learn some new board games!
Duck Race Sunday
This Sunday, between packing up our apartment and trying to sell off half of our furniture, we found a little time to step outside and take part in the annual Rennie’s River Rubber Duck Race.
Brigus Head Hike Saturday
This Saturday we decided to tackle a section of the East Coast Trail with Elizabeth’s parents. Between the dramatic scenery, evidence of nearby moose and an unexpected trek through a marsh, it turned into quite the weekend adventure!
We're Elizabeth and Luke.
