So our Something Saturday this week was as random as it sounds! We went to Formosa Tea House for lunch, then went mini-golfing, then went to Cymbeline performed by Shakespeare by the Sea, and then went out for Ellice's birthday supper and played pool afterwards. Epic day.

This past weekend we went to Eastport with Elizabeth's family! We spent most of the weekend exploring, hanging out at the beach, and enjoying the beautiful weather that Eastport had to offer.
This past Saturday we spent the day in Petty Harbour - zip lining and visiting the new mini aquarium! Petty Harbour is a small picturesque fishing village that is about a 25 minute drive from downtown St. John's.
In anticipation of the zip-lining adventure, we decided that we didn't want to risk dropping or damaging our digital cameras, so we bought disposable cameras and used them for the day! It's unbelievable how different they are to use when you're so comfortable with digital cameras, and taking pictures was a 'something' in itself. Overall, the pictures turned out great and they look a bit retro, which we kind of expected. On Saturday we went to the MUN Botanical Garden, and then went out for Ocean Pond for another weekend at the cabin! The weather was amazing (if a bit too hot), but was perfect for swimming in the pond.
Over the Canada Day long weekend, Luke's parents came to visit! It was their first time in Newfoundland so we got to show them a few of our favourite things, as well as check out some new sights.
Our Something Saturdays for this weekend included seeing capelin rolling in at Beachy Cove, and visiting the Colony of Avalon in Ferryland. We also went to the Captain's Table restaurant in Mobile, that we hadn't been to before. Plus, it was Luke's first Canada Day in Canada! |
