Just as we were grabbing our food we heard Alvvays kick off on the main stage so we quickly made our way to a grassy knoll where we could sit, eat and listen. The band put off a great performance and after finishing our dinner we moved closer to catch their final few tunes. The sun was out, and behind the main stage we had views of the Toronto skyline and Lake Ontario.
We hadn’t hear much of The New Pornographers before, but liked what we saw/heard. Really entertaining show that warmed us up for the headline act - and our faves - Hey Rosetta! After a short break, just as the sun started to set (at 9pm! Summer is awesome) and bathe the stage in a soft pink glow, the Newfoundlanders took the the stage. The crowd was pumped, and so were we as we moved right down close to the stage.
