As we were exploring the Expo we tasted some wine from Auk Island Winery, bought a new handmade dog collar for Maebe, entered an assortment of draws, got three coupons for free taters at Mary's Browns, and collected some information for travel around Eastern Newfoundland. Right before we left, we also played a stressful game stacking metal nuts so that we could be entered in a draw to win a vacation. Unfortunately we didn't win that, but as it turns out on Sunday Elizabeth received a phone call from Greyhound Pets - NL because she won a draw for a $200 gas gift card! All in a (Satur) day's work.
Additionally, the Downhome Expo had a zipline set up to send people above the crowd, an entertainment area with live music, live reptiles, and a kid's zone. It was elaborate! We were surprised by the extent of the Expo and the wide range of exhibitors. It was definitely an interesting way to spend the afternoon and it more than worth the $7 entry fee.
