First, we walked around and decided to get some lunch from a food vendor; the food was great and it came to $15 total for the two of us. They also have tables set up for people to eat their lunch, but they were filled when we arrived, so we just sat on the grass.
On Saturday, we ventured to the St. John's Farmer's Market. Although it has been around for a while, it was our first time visiting! The St. John's Farmer's Market operates every Saturday from June until December at the Lion's Club Chalet, next to the RE/MAX Centre. There are vendors operating inside and outside the chalet selling local vegetables, homemade jams, handcrafted goods, specialty desserts, and foods from around the world. First, we walked around and decided to get some lunch from a food vendor; the food was great and it came to $15 total for the two of us. They also have tables set up for people to eat their lunch, but they were filled when we arrived, so we just sat on the grass. After checking out a few more stalls, we bought some coffee, water, and mini doughnuts (which were delicious). Our visit was mainly centered around food, because it was lunctime and we were hungry, but there is lots more to do and see that is not food-related. We weren't really sure what to expect from the Farmer's Market, but we will definitely be back! And for anyone who is planning to visit, the parking situation is tricky. It was especially bad on Saturday because there was an event at the RE/MAX Centre, but from what we've heard, it's always a bit of an issue. After the Farmer's Market, we went bowling and had a potluck with Elizabeth's family to celebrate her uncle's 40th birthday! Since we didn't take many pictures at the Farmer's Market, here are a few pictures of Elizabeth's cousins doing random things at the party, as per their request. Enjoy!
