This past Saturday we met up with Elizabeth's friend Katie, who is visiting from Alberta, went out for lunch, and then visited Lester's Farm Market to hang out with the animals (and buy some local veggies)!

We started out our Something Saturday at Piatto Pizzeria, which was super tasty. It was our first time there and they have a great lunch special, so we'll definitely be back!
Then we made our way to Lester's Farm, which none of us had ever visited before! Apparently the Lesters have been farming on Brookfield Road for over 150 years and the sixth generation of Lesters are currently working on the farm. The farm consists of a dairy farm and the farm market. We visited the farm market which includes a small shop, a variety of animal petting areas, a corn maze, lots of plants, and a strawberry u-pick in the summer.

We wandered around and had some fun petting animals, but unfortunately didn't have enough time to explore the corn maze. But we did pop into the store and bought our fresh vegetables for the week including; carrot, parsnip, collard greens, broccoli, onion, snow peas... and oatcakes. There are a wide variety of products in the store, and they're not too expensive. Our items came to just over $20.
Katie's daughter, Halle, also joined in on our trip to Lester's Farm. But she didn't sleep well the night before, so she took the opportunity to get some shut-eye. You can't really blame her. She'll have to go back to get a picture with some animals and pumpkins another time.
