Printers' Fair Sunday

Our weekend was full of documentary watching (and shopping and curling), but on Sunday we decided to go to the Printers' Fair, hosted by The Book Arts Association of Newfoundland and Labrador in the upstairs of Rocket Bakery.

Before we talk about the Printers' Fair, we thought we'd mention the documentary series that we can't stop watching - The Up Series. It's comprised of eight films, so far, that chronicle the lives of 14 British people, from the age of 7 until now. They follow up with the participants every seven years to get an update on all aspects of their lives, and they initially selected the children because they wanted to represent a range of socio-economic backgrounds in the UK, predicting that their childhood social class determines their future.

The films are fascinating and it is crazy to get a glimpse of the changes in these people's lives over seven year spans, not only in terms of life events, but also personality-wise. We're still in the midst of watching the documentaries, but we're not stopping anytime soon. Overall, they are definitely worth the watch and they're available on Netflix. Search '7 Up' to find the first one.

... So, back to the Printers' Fair last Sunday. The fair consisted of tables of books, prints, cards, lithographs, and etchings, created by a variety of artists and craftspeople.

There were a wide range of things for sale and some of our favourites were by:
Jud Haynes - St. John's/Mount Pearl Neighbourhoods
Christine Koch - Various Prints
Alan Ho - Various Prints

Although there were some interesting products there, we couldn't come up with a good reason to buy anything, however much we tried.

Then after the Printers' Fair, we went downstairs and had a couple of sodas and a profiterole. And until next Saturday... enjoy these snaps!

I was all ready to tease you for watching documentaries all weekend (though my life isn't any more exciting) but that actually sounds really cool!

Also, dying at those pictures of Luke hahah. Looks like a delicious treat.
