In the meantime, why not check out what Luke and Elizabeth of the past have been up to. This time last year we were still in Mexico, and back in 2014 we were discovering new trails in Newfoundland.
This weekend we continued to make good use of our ROM memberships by checking out their Friday Night Live event. Yet another great way to enjoy the museum, this time with live music and alcohol! Starting in Spring, the ROM puts off a new Friday Night Live event every Friday for a couple of months, so we decided to pop along to see what it was all about. Turns out, its basically an awesome party in a museum! Featuring live music, DJs, food, drinks and full access to all the exhibits. Each night has its own theme, emphasising certain exhibits in the museum. Friday's theme was Punchline, and focused on some of the old satirical comic strips in the museum's Canada collection. After breezing through the line ups with our V.I.P ROM memberships and picking up a few "ROM Bucks" for food and drink, we set off exploring the goings on of the museum. Along the way we managed to check out the Asian and natural history exhibits, and were especially interested in the Asian exhibits as we're going to Hong Kong / Taipei / Tokyo this week! We also headed to the Canada wing to see the featured satirist comic strips. Before heading home, we checked out some more of the entertainment, as well as a preview of a new exhibit on the Dawn of Life - which featured some big, weird prehistoric animals, as well as a few fossils from Newfoundland! Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed this big museum based party. We will definitely be back. Just so you know, we're off to Asia for a week so you're going to have to be patient and wait for our next blog post. Rest assured though, it will be a good one.
