This past week Elizabeth was heading home to Newfoundland, so we couldn't do our regular Something Saturday. Instead, we set out on a Tuesday evening to explore a bit more of Toronto. In the spirit of our "Subway Saturdays", we decided a nice way to spend the evening would be to set off to a random subway stop of our choosing, and explore the area. This week we settled on St. Clair West, just a few stops north of us, near to Casa Loma. We arrived around 6:30pm. Before setting off for a proper walk, we decided to get some food. Heading west along St. Clair Ave W, we came across as huddle of casual restaurants. We settled on Pizza Del Arte, where we picked up a pizza to go. Since the sun was still out and the sky was clear, we thought we'd enjoy our pizza in nearby Sir Winston Churchill Park. What we didn't realise was that we were about a year too soon, as the entire park was fenced off for some major construction work. We settled for a roadside bench (we were hungry). All fueled up, we then decided to tackle a nearby walk through (yet another) ravine. The sun was starting to set as we made our way down into Nordheimer Ravine and we enjoyed a beautful stroll amongst the trees. Once again, we felt miles away from the city with only the faint sound of traffic in the distance. We followed the ravine all the way until it emerge in a residential neighbourhood. From there we ended up walking all the way home to finish off our very leisurly Something Tuesday.
