With full bellies, we wandered around downtown, window shopped, actual shopped, and each picked up a chocolate bar from the Newfoundland Chocolate Company; it is impossible to walk into that store and resist buying something.
Amidst a weekend full of curling, we managed to squeeze in an afternoon of wandering around downtown which included finally eating at Sun Sushi! Elizabeth and her curling team played five games this weekend as part of the Provincial Travelers Curling Club Championships so we didn't have a lot of free time. Unfortunately, her team lost in the final on Sunday but they were happy with how everything went overall. On Saturday afternoon, between games (and getting things together for our trip to Mexico!), we took a stroll downtown and stopped in at Sun Sushi for lunch. Sun Sushi has been around for ages but it's one of those places that we have somehow not yet eaten at, despite the fact that we love sushi and we've heard good things about it. We opted for the all-you-can-eat lunch option and it didn't disappoint. Other than the sushi, we were particularly impressed with the Curry Rice Bowl which, as you can see from the picture below, we devoured pretty quickly. The food was tasty, the atmosphere was great, and yes, that makes it sushi two Saturdays in a row, after eating at Sushi Island last Saturday after Sled Wars. With full bellies, we wandered around downtown, window shopped, actual shopped, and each picked up a chocolate bar from the Newfoundland Chocolate Company; it is impossible to walk into that store and resist buying something. It was nice to have a relaxing afternoon wandering downtown amidst all of the other things going on, especially because we're off to Mexico this week for a week-long road trip around the Yucatan Peninsula! Understandably, our next blog post will be delayed a bit. Stay tuned for Mexican adventures.
