The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Sunday

Last Sunday we took it easy and headed to the Princess of Wales Theatre, with Aunt VIcki, for a matinee performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

Neither one of us had read the critically acclaimed book that the play was based on, so when we arrived at the theatre a few minutes early, we were immediately intrigued by the set and knew we were in for a treat.

The play follows fifteen year old Christopher Boone who loves math and space, although often struggles to understand everyday life. He gets caught up in the case of the murder of his neighbour's dog and his detective work takes him on a wild ride around his neighbourhood and all the way to London. The play is often narrated by Christopher so you get some insight into the way his brain works. The show itself was captivating, the acting was profound, and the use of the stage was unique and impressive.

After the show, we were surprised to see it was still light out, but that's what happens when you go to a matinee (and the clocks haven't gone back yet!)! On our way home, we stopped by Momofuku's Noodle Bar for the first time. We had previously eaten at two of their other restaurants, Daisho and Shoto, and have been wanting to try out the Noodle Bar for quite a while. The line at the door started before the restaurant even opened at 5 pm so we were lucky we wanted to go for an early dinner. We were not disappointed.

While at the Noodle Bar, we enjoyed the Pork Belly Buns as well as the Pork Ramen and Ginger Scallion Noodles. A perfect combination for a cool fall day.
