This past weekend was Luke’s parents’ last weekend in Newfoundland, so we took them to Bay Roberts and Brigus on Saturday before spending the rest of the weekend at the cabin!

Over the weekend, we explored the St. John’s area with Luke’s parents and checked out a few places we’d never visited before including the Queen’s Battery, Fort Amherst, and the Ocean Sciences Centre!
Over the weekend we attended a talk by Canadian astronaut, Jeremy Hansen, and saw some talented and skillful dogs at the SuperDogs show!
On Saturday we checked out the Downhome Expo being held at the Glacier in Mount Pearl!
This spring, the Canadian Wildlife Federation put off a campaign, entitled Walk for Wildlife, encouraging Canadians to explore and learn about the wildlife in their area. The Portugal Cove-St Philips Walking & Hiking Club held a Walk for Wildlife last Saturday which was all about frogs, so we joined in!
This past weekend, we took in two acoustic concerts - one was a Bryan Adams concert and the other was a show by a much lesser known, but equally awesome, guitarist named Steve Dawson!
On Saturday we wandered around downtown; we tried out a restaurant we'd never been to before, dropped into an art gallery, and checked out a local weekly market!
This past weekend we participated in the Bon Voyage curling bonspiel with Elizabeth's parents, and decided to check out the International Food and Craft Expo between games!
On Sunday, we went to a workshop in Pippy Park to learn about tapping trees and making maple syrup!
