This Sunday we worked up a thirst and made our way down to the Steamwhistle Roundhouse for the Craft Beer Festival.

This past weekend, Elizabeth's sister Rebecca got married in St. John's! The weekend, and week before, were very busy with wedding preparations but everything went off without a hitch.. well, except for the one that counts.  This past week Elizabeth was heading home to Newfoundland, so we couldn't do our regular Something Saturday. Instead, we set out on a Tuesday evening to explore a bit more of Toronto.  Toronto has been surprisingly rainy this year, but that hasn't stopped us from setting out to explore as many of its parks as we can. Turns out there's a huge number of green spaces right in the heart of the sprawling metropolis, that somehow manage to feel miles away from it all. This time we set off to nearby Riverdale Park and Riverdale Farm.  This weekend Peter, Emily and their friends were visiting from Montreal and Ottawa. We decided to make the most of the sun, and spent all weekend exploring the city and checking out a few of the events that were taking place.  This past weekend we joined in on the month-long Maker Festival and headed to their Maker Extravaganza at the Toronto Reference Library!  To celebrate the long Canada Day weekend - and Canada's 150th birthday - we decided to set forth and explore a little bit more of the gigantic province that we live in, making our way up to Northern Ontario and Sault Ste. Marie.  Last Saturday, Elizabeth was supposed to be participating in a work golf tournament so when the tournament was cancelled due to rainfall from the day before, we knew we wanted to spend our day exploring instead. So, after a bit of Googling, Moore Park Ravine it was!  Moore Park Ravine The street festivals of Toronto continued this weekend, as College Street was overtaken by the Taste of Little Italy. We walked down to taste it for ourselves.  Luke met up with some friends in New York last weekend so we delayed our Something Saturday until Tuesday and checked out Symphony in the Gardens!  |
